Lived-in: Creative Practices Shaped by People & Places brings together portraiture, still-life paintings, mixed-media installations, and intricate ceramic sculptures by eight artists from Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and the Coachella Valley. Drawing inspiration from their communities and everyday experiences, these artists use their work to question, challenge, and reimagine their surroundings.

Beyond their studio practices, the artists featured in Lived-in  foster creativity within their communities. They teach, advocate, and build inclusive platforms for expression; creating spaces of belonging. By providing welcoming environments where art becomes accessible, participatory, and transformative, they extend the gallery's reach and create connections that bridge traditional art spaces with the lived realities of their neighborhoods.

Together, the artworks in this exhibition reveal how art in any form captures a moment in time in society. Each artist composes artwork that is rooted in personal stories, shaped by communal spaces, and sustained by the people who inhabit them.
